A couple of years ago, I wrote a paper on the Verbiest Map. A few days ago, I tried to find a picture of it to post to /r/mapporn, but couldn’t find a clear enough picture. But I did find some nifty links.

Alright, this is the second time that I’ve gotten a strange server error when attempting to post/update a page, and this is really pissing me off. Luckily, I can get it to let me post the update as a post, so. My Projects page should have this appended to the bottom:
Michigan Journal of History (January 2011 — Present) – I’m the webmaster of this. It’s not much work, and I didn’t do any of the design, but I did format the pdf’s. Also, it comes with a nifty title: Senior Editor. Bow before me!
Well, that thing I wrote a little bit about before has been in the news a bit, thought I might as well link to it as filler for this here blog.
It appears that the USS Iwo Jima is being used as a floating hospital to deal with the outbreak in Haiti. (Here, here).
Also, a Chinese hospital ship made the rounds a while ago. (Here)
In related health news, a bunch of healthcare reform provision took effect a while ago, and there was a bunch of hoopla about that. However, there’s no reason we needed to phase in any of the proposals of the bill, and this is just a reminder that we got not true healthcare reform, but a neutered program to line the pockets of the insurance industries. That job sucked. A lot. Getting showered with molten-hot plastic is no joke. Neither is being fired, though.

Just kidding. There is no hope here. The demands of college have pretty much determined that the most content I’ll be able to produce for any of the Chucksphere projects is the occasional emo rant or an extremely belated May Day Mystery post (I’m still working on December’s). However, I spruced up the blog by putting it on the front page, then spruced it up again by changing the pallete to something not retarded. The content, though, is still up to its usual level “inspiration.” Let’s take a look at how the Projects faired this year:
Chuck’s World O’ Wargames: LOL. Why do I still have this?
Small Island Nation: Moved to on-site Wiki, which was spam-botted into oblivion. No movement made since August.
The Wildcat Code: Hard to keep up with, due to the demands of college. Still haven’t gotten the December ad finished.
One bright spot: I now have a forum where I can voice my foreign policy opinions. I wrote a peice for the Roosevelt Institutue which made it to the front page, and there are many more to come.
I just* finished my third semester of college. I am not a happy man. Those two statements are far from unrelated.
*For certain vaules of “just.” I got out on the 21st.
