Oh god, please fix this problem…
The past couple of weeks have been exciting, politically. Four electoral college prediction sites I frequent have Obama winning conservative states such as Iowa, Missouri, Virginia, and North Carolina, putting his electoral vote count somewhere between 334 and 373. This is astounding; it give Obama a clear lead in the electoral college rather than the squeak-by everyone shoots for. It would also shatter the traditional red/blue state divide (which is fairly artificial anyway) and show broad cross-country support.
HOWEVER, many registered voters in these states are being purged. In Michigan, the state Republican Party is planning to challenge voters who were evicted due to home foreclosures. In any case, the people who are being polled to generate these awesome pro-Obama votes may not be able to vote in the election; combine this with other possible (probable) Republican shinanigans, and this election could possibly, despite all that’s happened, go to McCain.
This had better not happen.
Also, tard parade.
